Overview

InteliWISE Virtual Chopin has been set up at eChopin.pl - a new web portal for children and young adults prepared by the Baltic Sea Culture Center for the Chopin Year. Its goal is to popularize Chopin's works among the youngest Internet users. The Virtual Chopin is placed under the separate tab - “Talk to Chopin” and can tell his guests about his life and adventures, the most important compositions, domestic and abroad journeys, closest people and many more.

Main features
The InteliWISE Virtual Chopin's main features include:
- accepting users' questions in natural language thanks to algorithms supporting the natural language recognition process;
- offering suggested questions based on activity scenarios;
- the input auto-complete feature;
- answers presented in text and audio form (with 'mute' option)
Location and design

Virtual Chopin is the first animated Avatar launched by InteliWISE. All elements (i.e. buttons, answer field, etc.) were adjusted to the “cartoonish” style of the eChopin.pl website.

The Virtual Chopin not only answers questions but also contextually suggests topics for further discussion.

The auto-complete feature enables users to interact with the Virtual Chopin more intuitively.
Results

Users can ask Virtual Chopin questions in natural language and receive fast and simple answers. Scenarios guide users to the related subjects, which makes knowledge easily accessible. The auto-complete feature and answers in audio form are helpful for young children who may find writing and reading somewhat hard.

Users' interest and frequency of usage
During the period from December 26, 2010 – January 8, 2011, the InteliWISE Virtual Chopin held 453 conversations, which translates into an average number of 32 conversations a day. 79% of website visitors conversed with the InteliWISE Virtual Chopin.
